As we are getting closer to E3, a gaming event in America, more games are getting announced as we speak. Sonic is also part of the crew, with the latest game in the Sonic Boom franchise, Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice , speeding towards the 3ds this winter.

Unfortunately nothing else has been announced so far, but we're expecting to receive more news at E3. We will keep you informed about all the latest news and rumors regarding Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice.

The rumoured game Sonic Runners has been officially announced by Takashi Iizuka. The game is being developped by Sonic Team and is set for a release somewhere 2015. And yes, the rumours were true. Sonic Runners will be, yet again, a Smartphone game. It is yet unknown if it will be available on both Android and Apple systems.

Nothing else is known so far, but it's expected Sonic Team will release more information in January. Whenever more information is available, we'll update the news, so stay tuned!

(First of all, my apologies for not having been active with updating the news in a while. I just haven't kept up with Sonic news in the past half year due to other interests overswallowing it. Anyways, I'm back now and I'll try to update the news as frequently as possible!)

The last day of Tokyo Game Show 2014 SEGA held a live stream of Sonic Boom (known as Sonic Toon in Japan). They showed a few new cutscenes and Wii U/3DS gameplay video with the commentary of Takashi Iizuka. You can view the recoding below.

Also you can see the separate videos of Wii U and 3DS versions' gameplay in the full story.

Several of SEGA's games for the Android are being sold as a Humble Bundle . The games include Android versions of Sonic 4 Episodes I and II, plus Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing , along with some other SEGA games such as ChuChu Rocket! , Virtua Tennis Challenge , and Crazy Taxi . As is traditional with Humble Bundles, more games are coming (usually after the first week). The bundle is pay-what-you-want for Sonic 4 Episode I , ChuChu Rocket! , and Virtua Tennis Challenge , but if you beat the average purchase, you will get the other games, including the extras that will be added later. All of the games are DRM-free, and every purchase supports the Child's Play, WaterAid, and UNICEF charities (you get to decide how to split the money between Humble Bundle, the developers, and the three charities). The bundle will end on September 3rd at 11:00 AM PST.

Last week, IGN had exclusive access to a new reveal regarding Sonic Boom. Many news regarding this trademark has been going around already, including a Cartoon and two games. These media will be joined by comics, made by our buddies Archie Comics!

The series will be written by Ian Flynn, and the art will be done by Even Stanley. Sonic Boom will be a completely original spin-off series, similar to Sonic Universe. As far as known, these comics will not influence the main storyline from the Archie Comics. Flynn had also promised us that they will reveal more info at the San Diego Comic Con, which will happen next week.

The 'sequel' to Sonic Jump is now available in the Google play and Apple store, called Sonic Jump Fever! It keeps the original Sonic Jump formula intact, while giving it several new additions.

In another mobile Sonic game, named Sonic Dash, you could challenge against your friends for the highest score. This is now also a new addition to Sonic Jump Fever. Another upgrade is the Fever option, which is simplified as the overdrive mode of this game. Chao's also make an appearance in this game, but don't get your hopes up. There is still no Chao Garden if that's what you were wishing for.

Best of all, the game is completely FREE!

Staying on the topic of Mobile Sonic games, Sega has just released something Easter related for Sonic Dash.

While being a bit on the late side with Easter, they make up for it with an amazing reward, being Cream the Rabbit. The Global Challenge is just like any other, 4 stages in which you have to collect certain items (being Easter Eggs) and make it to the top with the help of the Dash community. And of course, when completing a stage, you will also receive certain power-ups.

So keep dashin' people! The challenge will end at the 5th of May, so good luck to all Dashers out there!

Released at the 27th of March, Sonic Lost World received another DLC for the Wii U version. This being the earlier hinted the Legend of Zelda zone.

In this DLC, Sonic fits into a link attire and explores Hyrule in search for the famed Triforce. He will also come across various Zelda gimmicks, including Rupees and Heart Containers. You will also see Link flying on his bird from Skyward Sword on several parts in the stage. A love letter to both Sonic and Zelda fans.

You can download this DLC for free on your Nintendo Wii U console.
