Regarding the Comics

Good day everyone. We at Sonic SCANF would like to inform you on an important matter that will affect the entirety of our site.

As many of you know, we have been uploading the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man comics on our website for fans to enjoy for free. Unsurprisingly, this is considered on almost any front illegal, as Archie Comic Publications Inc. is not making any profit from us. While we have been considering alternate methods to assist Archie, ultimately we came to a final decision. Out of respect for Ian Flynn and his team, we have decided to stop publishing the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics on our website. It would be unreasonable for us to continue uploading them without permission while they are suffering.

What does this mean for Sonic SCANF? We will continue to be around for now, as the News, Forums and Gallery will still be available to everyone. However, we will suffer a massive dent in the traffic as many people only visited our site for the comics. None of us know what the future will hold for Sonic SCANF, but whenever we know something, we’ll be the first to let you know.

Therefore, we would ask you to please accept the statement and not request us to continue uploading the comics. It would be disrespectful to both Archie Comics and us, and our decision won’t change.

We hope to see you stick around. If not, thank you for your time and supporting our website.

The Sonic SCANF team.

SvenskSonic you have to understand that its ILLEGAL. I know how you feel
You guys have no idea that your decision will cause more harm than good. I suggest you continue uploading the comics, risk or no risk.
At the risk of sounding rude, not trying to at all mind you, why did it take so long for this announcement?
Was it because you were considering said options?

@Crossharemega very interesting question. It is indeed true that our news announcement has taken a bit long. We have been considering many options before as to how we could keep publishing the comics on our site, and there were none to few we could come up with. In all honesty, we didn't want to make the announcement after the comics were taken down, but it went quicker than we had expected and didn't make it in time. Therefore, our apologies for taking a bit longer with the announcement than we wanted to.
how long if sonic scanf comics button come back?
So wait- are you taking down all the comics you have, or are you guys just stopping the upload of new comics?
im from chile here don´t arrive sonic comics but I BUY THE SONIC COMICS ANYWAY for long 6 years i admit that i see the comics here first beacause the comics take so long to arrive to chile you must count that show the comics don´t affect to the profits of the archie comics overseas
@A J Smith. Both
Why are some people so insisted on bringing back the comics in this site? I admit, I am in a place where you have 100% chance of never coming across the comics, so yes, this was basically one of my few options to read (considering I'm also poor, so subscriptions arent an option either), but honestly I think this was the right decision. Considering how Archie is basically having second thoughts of making Sonic Comics anymore, because of how little they are making out of it, having a site where you can access it with a snap of a finger is unfair to them, and deleting them seems like both a good and bad option

Not to say I dont want you to continue uploading, since I cant read them anymore thanks to this, but it seems like the best decision
i think not publishing the issues as they come out is a fair enough choice, i don't think its especially in the best interests of the creators to delete the archived history of the comics though. its not as though archie will let you buy them, and i can say personally that i wouldn't have started buying the recent ones if i hadnt been able to go back and read the old ones; the subscription system is terrible for bringing in new readers, sites like this do their work for them by developing a consuming fanbase who would never have necessarily put down money in advance for a product they have no reason to believe they would like, referring to an intertextual history they're unfamiliar with.
i initially started reading the comics through this site and love it, have been rereading the early issues recently. sad that they have been taken down: just feels like a fruitless loss of history for the franchise when this happens, though of course theres other places online to access them

It makes me happy that you've chosen to support Archie (since they seem to be suffering financially), but it's weird that you'd nuke the entire comics section. With the whole Ken Penders situation, there are a lot of comics that Archie can't sell anymore. They can't be ordered as back issues, they can't be read on Comixology, nothing. They are essentially abandonware, and without archives like yours, they aren't easily accessible.

Furthermore, you've taken down the *entire* comics section, which includes non-Archie comics as well. The entire Fleetway archive and all of the Japanese manga are no longer accessible. Neither are reprinted, neither even involve Archie, so for a move that's primarily about supporting Ian Flynn, why are there so many unrelated casualties?
which day if sonic scanf comics button will come back?
Archiving should not be illegal. Nobody really makes any money from old issues and it's a way to ensure that an element of our cultural heritage (no matter how minor) gets destroyed.

As Gabox said, what about Sonic the Comic, especially sonic universe?
I suggest you look at this:
Such is the risk of posting comics online for free. It is illegal, and it's also disappointing to lose them on the site. Good luck in the future. Time to forget this website exists!
that stinks well i loved the comics but i guess news will have to do :(

Hope people will still enjoy the news.

boy am i glad i had downloaded all the comics up to date.

This is what I get for procrastinating to read the rest of them.
